Pack 101

The Pack 101 is a recent addition to the WE range of outdoor education pack models. Closely related to the Outbreak the main point of difference with the Pack 101 is its simplified back system. The materials and construction are of identical specification. Like all WE packs this is a tough product suited to continuous use. The Pack 101 uses the e-AX variant of the legendary WE AX cross-frame. The frame bars are fed into their individual harness panel sleeves from the outside of the pack bag. The bottom ends of the bars locate in strongly reinforced pockets built into the separate Convert 38 AX hip harness, a variant of the Perfect-FIT hip harness. The hip harness is then held firmly in place behind the hinged lumbar pad. Assembly and disassembly couldn’t be faster or more simple. This arrangement has a number of distinct, important advantages: the pack weight is transferred directly from the bag into the hip harness, in the field the frame bars are easily removed in emergency for other uses (for example, as splints) and disassembly in the gear store, for cleaning, harness span change or to repair accidental damage is not something to think twice about. The Contour-FLEX shoulder harness arms are fixed to the pack bag and carefully sized and shaped to match each of the four back length options. The Pack 101 is provided in a choice of four different size colour-coded back-lengths: X-Small/Small, Small/Medium - with slim shoulder harness arms, Medium and Large. The slim shoulder harness provided on the S/M dual size is of special advantage on early teenage users. The size colour-coding is on the grab handle.
